There is no unified “mandatory rule”.

Typical evaluation directions include overcharge, over-discharge, overcurrent, external short circuit, overload, and reverse charge (specific items depend on product design, for example, products without reverse connection protection will not be tested for corresponding items).

Its result boundary is also very clear: it only verifies the abnormal scenarios specified in the standard, and does not mean that chargers can be matched arbitrarily, or used in violation of the product manual — for example, battery damage caused by using a charger with an output voltage much higher than the product’s requirements is not within the scope of UL’s guarantee.
